Fried green asparagus Asian

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1 tbsp oil (peanut oil)
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 500 g asparagus (green, thicker stalks)
  • ½ tsp pepper (black)
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (dark)

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Roast the sesame seeds without fat until golden brown, finely chop the garlic, and grate the ginger. Peel the bottom third of the asparagus and cut it into 1.5 cm pieces. Heat the peanut oil in a pan. Add the garlic, ginger, and asparagus, leaving the tips on. Stir-fry over high heat. Add the asparagus tips, season with freshly ground pepper, sugar, and soy sauce. Cover and cook over low heat until al dente. Sprinkle with the sesame seeds and season with a little more sesame oil, if desired. Serve with roasted pork fillet and/or rice.
