Spread the love

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 500 g beef, diced
  • 2 onions, diced
  • 1 ½ tbsp ginger, grated
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 2 tsp coriander, ground
  • 1 tsp spice mix (Garam Masala)
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper
  • ½ tsp, heaped salt
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 10 cardamom pods, green
  • 12 carnations
  • 250 g yogurt
  • some oil
  • e.g. crème fraîche

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Heat the oil in a medium-sized saucepan and sauté the onions, garlic, and ginger for about 5 minutes. Add the bay leaves, cloves, and cardamom pods and sauté for another 5 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent sticking. Now add the meat pieces, coriander, garam masala, cayenne pepper, and a pinch of salt. Mix everything thoroughly and sauté until browned, then add the yogurt. Cover and simmer over low heat for 60-90 minutes (depending on the thickness of the meat pieces), stirring occasionally. Finally, season with salt and garnish with a little crème fraîche, if desired. We serve this with basmati rice and red lentil dal.
