Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 tbsp ginger, freshly grated
  • 1 chili pepper(s), dried
  • 1 tbsp cumin, whole
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 clove(s) garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 onion(s), diced
  • 2 potatoes (floury), diced
  • 1 cup(s) Lentils, red
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tbsp orange juice

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Briefly fry the ginger, chili pepper, cumin, and turmeric in hot oil in a large pot. Add the garlic clove, onion, potatoes, lentils, and water. Use the same amount of water and lentils to ensure the correct amount. Bring to a boil briefly, then simmer on low heat for about 20 minutes. Finally, add the orange juice. This is best served with basmati rice.
