Saxon beer goulash

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg pork
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 onions
  • 1 cup meat broth
  • 500 ml beer, wheat beer or pilsner
  • 3 tbsp bread(s), crumbled stale black bread
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 4 tbsp sour cream
  • ½ tsp caraway seeds, ground
  • pepper
  • Salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Cut the meat into even cubes and sear on all sides in hot oil. Add the finely chopped onions, pepper, and salt. Then add the broth and simmer for about 45-60 minutes. Gradually add the beer while simmering. Remove from the heat and immediately stir in the grated black bread, garlic (finely chopped or pressed), caraway seeds, and cream. Serve with boiled potatoes or mashed potatoes.
