Ingredients for 1 servings:
- ½ liter milk, lukewarm
- 4 eggs
- 500 g flour
- 1 cube of yeast
- ¾ pack of cardamom powder
- ½ stalk(s) fat, for frying
- ½ bag(s) of raisins, plum jam, or jam
Instructions
Working time approx. 5 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 50 minutes
Combine all ingredients except the frying oil in a very large bowl, stir, and let rise in a warm place for at least 30 minutes. Then heat the oil in the pan. I always have a pot with melted oil on the side. When the oil is really hot, pour a little batter into the holes, but not completely full, as the batter will expand even in the holes. Then quickly fill the holes with raisins, plum jam, jam, or whatever you like. I would fill the plum jam or jam with a piping nozzle; it’s quicker and easier. When the holes are nice and brown on one side, turn them over with two forks. Always make sure there’s enough oil in the holes. These holes are so delicious and highly addictive. Eight of us ate 60 today. This recipe makes 60! I think if your guests aren’t quite so greedy, 4-5 pieces per person would be enough! This goes very well with the lemon soup with sago and beaten egg whites, also Grandma Hilde’s style. The recipe is in my profile.
