Chicken Kandhari Kofta

Mix the minced chicken with a little salt, the cumin, and the cinnamon. With wet hands, form into small dumplings. Finely chop the onions, finely grate the garlic, and puree both in a blender or food processor. Heat the oil in a medium-sized saucepan, add the onion and garlic mixture, and sauté until translucent. Continue stirring, then add the coriander and chili powder. Add the tomato puree and bring to a boil over high heat for 3-5 minutes, stirring constantly. Deglaze with the chicken stock and bring back to a boil. Add the dumplings and cook over medium heat for 10-15 minutes. Stir in the garam masala and syrup, and simmer for another 5 minutes. When the dumplings are cooked, stir in the cream, season with salt and pepper, if desired, and serve. Serve with rice, chapatis, or naan bread.
