Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • 500 g chard
  • 3 eggs
  • 150 g flour
  • 250 ml milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped.

  • 3 tbsp pesto
  • 1 onion(s), chopped
  • 150 g cheese, grated
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

A simple casserole, delicious as a starter or main course

Preheat the oven to 190°C. Cut and wash the chard, but do not drain too well. Pre-cook in a covered microwave bowl on high for about 5 minutes (if the bowl is too small, simply split it and cook it twice). In a large bowl, thoroughly mix the eggs, flour, milk, salt, and baking powder. Add the garlic, chopped bell peppers, pesto, and onions and mix. Finally, stir in the cheese and drained chard. Place the butter in a 20 cm x 30 cm baking dish in the oven for 2 minutes until the butter has melted. Swirl the dish until the bottom is greased with butter. Now pour the chard mixture into the dish. Place in the hot oven and bake for about 40-45 minutes. After baking, let it cool for about 5 minutes. As an appetizer, the casserole can now be cut into pieces and served. Serve with salad as a main course.
