Place the oatmeal in a saucepan and pour over the hot water. Bring to a boil while stirring continuously until it becomes porridge-like. Let it stand on the stovetop at the lowest heat for about 20 minutes. Add the apple puree, spices, and bitter almond flavoring (I add about 100 ml of water to the empty apple puree jar, close it, shake vigorously, and add the water to the porridge). Mix everything thoroughly and heat again until it reaches the desired consistency. The porridge tastes best hot. However, it can also be refrigerated overnight. It should then be at least room temperature before consumption. Note: Plant-based milk can be used as an alternative to water, in whole or in part. It also tastes divine and is even more filling. Approx. 400 kcal per serving.
