Milk barley with apple sauce

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 10 g butter
  • 120 g barley (gourmet barley, classic)
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 350 ml milk
  • e.g. applesauce
  • n. B. cinnamon sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

simply

Melt the butter and briefly sauté the gourmet barley. Add the salt. Gradually pour the milk into the grains, as you would for a risotto. Bring to a boil after each addition of milk and simmer until the milk has reduced slightly. Stir occasionally; constant stirring is not necessary. The grains need about 20 minutes until they are soft but still have a pleasant bite. Serve the finished milk barley with applesauce and cinnamon sugar. A delicious dessert. Something different from rice pudding, and even quicker to prepare.
