Mushrooms in a bed of puff pastry

Cut the puff pastry into 8 pieces. Cut a rectangle out of four of the pieces in the middle (basically a 1-2 cm wide ring). Brush all pieces with egg. Then place a “ring” on top of a regular rectangle (this will become the base). Bake the cut-out pieces as usual; this will become the topping. Season all puff pastry pieces with salt, pepper, and sesame seeds. Bake in a preheated oven at 160°C (320°F) for about 15-20 minutes (until nicely browned). Meanwhile, peel and dice the onion. Heat olive oil in a pan. Sauté the onions until translucent. Then add the cleaned and sliced mushrooms and fry until they still have a bite. Season to taste with salt, pepper, and the pizza seasoning. Finally, stir in the cream cheese. Fill the puff pastry beds with the mushrooms and place the topping on top. Serve hot.
