Green beans with onions tossed in butter

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g green beans
  • 1 ½ liters of water
  • 1 tbsp savory
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 small onion(s), finely chopped
  • 1 clove(s) garlic, finely chopped
  • e.g. salt and pepper
  • e.g. parsley, finely chopped

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Wash the beans and trim the ends. Cook the beans in salted water with the savory for 10 minutes. Drain and refresh in ice-cold water (if you’re not using the beans immediately, you can place them in a sieve with ice cubes to retain their green color). Heat the butter in a saucepan, then sauté the onion and garlic until translucent. Toss the beans in the butter and heat briefly. If you like, sprinkle parsley over the beans.
