Cheese sticks made from puff pastry

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 pack of puff pastry (275g)
  • ½ tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 100 g Emmental cheese, grated
  • 1 pinch of sea salt from the mill
  • some caraway
  • Paprika powder
  • oregano

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 12 minutes; Total time approx. 27 minutes

super quick snack

Cut the puff pastry into 12 equal pieces. Whisk the egg yolk and milk, spread a little of it on the puff pastry, and spread with the tomato paste. Spread the Emmental cheese evenly on top. Roll into logs. Brush with the remaining egg yolk, then sprinkle with sea salt, caraway seeds, paprika, and oregano, if desired. Place the logs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (top/bottom heat) for 8-12 minutes (depending on the oven).
