  • 1 tbsp mustard

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Probably the absolute best burger in the world – and vegan too!

Finely chop half a banana, the onion, the peanuts, and the garlic. Mix in a bowl with the flour, mustard, soy sauce, and sesame paste. Crumble in the smoked tofu and season with salt and pepper. Knead everything well until a smooth paste forms. Form 4 burger patties and dust them with a little flour on both sides. Heat oil in a large pan and fry the patties until crispy on both sides. Be careful when turning them, as they are not very firm, especially at first. Meanwhile, caramelize sugar in a pan to taste. Meanwhile, thinly slice the remaining bananas and, once the sugar is caramelized, add them to the pan. Turn off the heat and remove the bananas. Toast the burger buns (in the oven or in a toaster). Then spread peanut butter on top, if desired. Stack iceberg lettuce, sliced tomatoes, and cucumbers as desired, and place the patty on top. If you like, add more peanut butter (yum!) and finally the caramelized bananas. Cover and serve. It might sound strange at first, but… give it a try; it’s delicious. If you like, you can also add (vegan) mayo and ketchup.
