Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • 8 pretzel sticks, frozen
  • 1 bunch of spring onions
  • 150 g bacon cubes
  • 250 ml hollandaise sauce
  • some salt and pepper
  • possibly grated cheese, if required

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Alternative to pizza rolls

Arrange the pretzel sticks on two baking sheets lined with baking paper and let them thaw. Preheat the oven to 200°C (top/bottom heat). Cut the pretzel sticks lengthwise with a sharp knife – but don’t cut all the way through – and spread them apart with your fingers to give them their typical shape. Spread the hollandaise sauce on top and smooth it down with a spoon. Wash the spring onions and slice them into rings. Arrange the spring onions and bacon cubes on the pretzel sticks and season with salt and pepper to taste. If desired, sprinkle some cheese on top. Bake the baking sheets one after the other on the middle rack in a hot oven for about 20 minutes. Tip: Replace the hollandaise sauce and spring onions with crème fraîche and onions; then the sticks will taste like tarte flambée.
