Braised pork ribs

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 kg pork ribs
  • 5 garlic cloves
  • 2 onions, red
  • e.g. chili flakes
  • 3 tbsp rice wine
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • some water
  • 700 ml frying oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 2 hours 5 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 15 minutes

Heat the frying oil to 150°C. Slice the onions into rings and halve the garlic cloves. Add the onion rings and garlic to the oil for about 2 minutes and then set aside. Increase the temperature of the fryer to 200°C. Wash the ribs and drain on kitchen paper. Brush the ribs with a tablespoon of soy sauce and add them to the oil for about 1 minute. Then drain well. In a deep pan or pot, fry the ground chilies in the cooking wine. Deglaze with water. Add the ribs, onions and garlic, along with the hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, and remaining soy sauce. Add water until everything is covered and simmer over low heat for about 2 hours.
