Hoci’s Golden Seduction
The perfect hoci’s golden seduction recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 100 g Wheat semolina
- 850 ml Milk
- 50 ml Cream 30% fat
- 1 tsp Butter
- 1 Pc. Vanilla pod or vanilla flavor
- 50 g Sugar
- 2 tbsp Milk
- 2 Pc. Egg yolk
- 1 Pr Salt
- 10 Pc. Fresh mandarins
- 1 packet Grated orange peel
- 10 leaf Gelatin
- Gold edible
- Spray cream
- Put milk, cream, sugar, a pinch of salt, butter, pulp from the vanilla pod (alternatively vanilla flavor) in a saucepan and bring to the boil. While the milk cream comes to a boil, mix 2 tablespoons of milk with 2 egg yolks in a small bowl. If the milk is starting to rise, reduce the heat supply to a minimum.
- Slowly pour in the semolina and stir at the same time without stopping. Before it’s thickened, don’t forget that the egg-milk mix has to be added & keep stirring without fire.
- Rinse dessert bowls, several small ones or one large one, with cold water and then fill them with semolina pudding. Set aside and let cool. In the meantime, the mandarin jelly is prepared. To do this, I cut the mandarins in half and squeeze them out because I need the juice from them. Once I have done this, I put 8 sheets of gelantine in a water bath to let it soften.
- I put the juice of the mandarins in a saucepan with a packet of orange zest, bring the juice to the boil, add the soaked gelantine leaves & just let it boil again briefly. Then distribute this on the semolina pudding in the dessert bowls. If everything went well, the mandarin jelly should spread evenly and the cold pudding should now float in the bowl.
- Let the whole thing cool down as well, a little tip in the fridge will make it faster. If it got cold it could be served, but that wasn’t exactly my idea. I briefly held the dessert bowl in hot water and then threw it onto a plate. The short, hot water bath makes the tangerine gelatine easier to remove from the edge of the dessert bowl.
- I put some edible gold on top and some whipped cream with cocoa powder, but it turned out to be a little golden dessert / seduction. You can call it what you want, if only it’s delicious & I thought it was delicious. Not everyone’s taste but that is the case with everything 😉
- TIP ….. Since this pudding is cut-proof, you could also prepare it in a box and then turn it over. Sliced it is sure to be a nice and tasty dessert.
