Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 beef roulades
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 piece(s) Gouda, approx. 100 g, depending on the size of the roulade more or less
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • Paprika powder
  • salt and pepper
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour 45 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 15 minutes

Boil the egg hard and chop finely. Dice the cheese. Brush the roulades with mustard and season with salt, pepper, and paprika. Distribute the egg and cheese on the roulades. Roll up the meat and secure with toothpicks. Brown the roulades in oil on all sides in a roasting pan or pot. Add water, cover the roasting pan or pot, and braise the roulades for approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Season the broth to taste and thicken if necessary. Serve with boiled potatoes and a green salad. This recipe is from the memories of an elderly gentleman. His family calls the roulades legendary, hence the name, and they are so enthusiastic that the recipe simply belongs here.
