Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 300 g flour
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 2 ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 100 g butter
  • 130 ml milk
  • 200 g strawberries
  • Flour , for editing

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Fruity strawberry cakes, for 12 pieces

In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, vanilla sugar, and salt. Cut the butter into small pieces with a knife and add it to the flour in portions. Using a dough hook or a fork, mix everything into a crumbly dough, adding the milk as you go. Wash and hull the strawberries and cut them into roughly 1 cm pieces. Then carefully mix them into the crumbly dough. Preheat the oven to 220°C (200°C fan-assisted oven). With floured hands, shape the dough into a log with a diameter of about 5-6 cm. Cut the log into 12 slices, each about 2 cm thick. Line a baking sheet with baking paper, place the scones on it, and bake for about 12-15 minutes, until golden brown. The scones taste best warm with whipped cream and/or vanilla ice cream (they also work as a dessert!). Tip: For a more refined finish, you can also add a dash of strawberry syrup and/or cinnamon to the dough.
