Puff pastry squares with smoked salmon and goat cheese

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 250 g puff pastry (ready-made product)
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1 small onion(s), red, cut into rings
  • 100 g cheese (goat cheese)
  • 4 slices of smoked salmon
  • n. B. Pfeffer

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface to a thickness of 5mm and cut into 4 equal squares. Whisk the egg with the milk. Place the squares on a baking sheet and brush with the egg wash. Top with onion rings and sprinkle with grated goat cheese. Preheat the oven and bake the squares at approximately 180°C for 20-25 minutes, until the puff pastry is well risen and golden brown. Let cool slightly, garnish with smoked salmon, and season with pepper.
