Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 160 g butter
- 120 g sugar
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- 4 eggs
- 250 g flour
- 2 tsp, crushed cream of tartar
- 150 g natural yogurt
- 70 g chocolate flakes
- 1 lemon(s), organic, grated peel
- 2 tbsp lemon juice

A delicious little gift from the kitchen that’s always a hit. Serves 6, 440 ml jars.
Cream the butter with the sugar, vanilla sugar, and lemon zest until creamy. Gradually add the egg yolks and continue beating for a few minutes. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Mix the flour with the baking powder and stir into the egg and sugar mixture alternately with the yogurt and lemon juice. Using a whisk, fold the beaten egg whites and chocolate flakes into the batter. Grease 6 440 ml jars with butter and fill evenly with the batter. Use a maximum of 185 g per jar. Bake the jars uncovered in the lower third of an oven preheated to 180 °C (top/bottom heat) for 35-40 minutes (test with a skewer). Remove the jars one at a time and immediately replace the lids. The cakes will keep for 6 months. If necessary, remove one cake at a time and dust with powdered sugar.
