Currywurst with spicy sauce

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 250 ml tomato(s), pureed, or tomato ketchup
  • 2 sausages, as desired
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • e.g. curry powder
  • n. B. curry paste, red
  • 1 dash of Worcestershire sauce
  • e.g. Paprika powder, hot
  • 1 shot of vinegar, brandy

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Place strained tomatoes, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, and a dash of vinegar in a saucepan and simmer over medium heat. Stir in red curry paste, if desired (3 tablespoons or more is really hot!). Season generously with curry powder and paprika. The sauce should become thick and only have a subtle tomato flavor. Finish with a dash of Worcestershire sauce. Reduce heat and let the sauce simmer (stirring occasionally). Fry or grill the sausages as desired, then slice or place whole on a plate. Pour the sauce over them and garnish with a little curry powder. Chips are a great side dish—or, if you’re in a hurry, a roll or slice of bread. If you’re short on time, you can also quickly heat the sauce in a suitable container in the microwave.
