Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 800 g boneless Kasseler cutlet, approx. 5 thin slices
- 60 g bacon, diced
- 150 ml water, hot
- 150 ml apple juice
- 1 tsp mustard
- 2 tsp vegetable broth, granulated
- 1 small jar of sliced mushrooms (drained weight 170 g)
- ½ small jar onion(s) (shell onions, drained weight 190 g)
- 3 tsp cornstarch, mixed with a little water
- 1 tsp sour cream (or 2 tsp)

Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
Cut the smoked pork chop into strips and fry briefly with the bacon in a saucepan. Stir in hot water, apple juice, vegetable stock, and mustard and bring to a boil. Add the mushrooms with their juice and the drained shallots, thicken with the mixed cornstarch, and season with sour cream and pepper. This dish goes well with rösti wedges or rice. You can also serve the dish with pasta. Variations: You can also replace the shallots with diced gherkins (amount to taste). Or replace the apple juice with water, season with sweet paprika, and add a little tomato paste. Add more mustard if desired.
