Feta Fried Eggs

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 100 g feta cheese
  • 1 egg(s)
  • pepper
  • Pepper(s) or cherry tomatoes
  • Onion(s), diced
  • Garlic, chopped
  • bacon cubes
  • Chili pepper(s) or pepper, finely chopped
  • Pesto
  • Paprika powder, sweet
  • curry powder
  • Cumin powder
  • Parsley, basil, chives or thyme
  • Chili oil or herb oil

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Crumble the feta and place it in the center of a pan. Flatten it and make a well in the center. Melt the cheese over medium heat. Optionally, you can now add finely chopped bell peppers or cherry tomatoes, chopped garlic, diced onions, diced bacon, finely chopped chili or hot peppers (spicy, but good!), pesto (simply drizzle over the melted feta in the pan), spices (e.g., paprika, curry, cumin), fresh herbs (e.g., parsley, basil, chives, thyme), or chili or herb oil. Then break the egg into the well on top of the feta. Season everything with pepper (salt isn’t necessary, as the feta usually contains enough salt). Cover the pan until the egg has set. Toast or brown bread go well with this, but other types of bread also work.
