Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 3 eggs
- 2 slices Gouda or Cheddar cheese
- 3 slices of bread of your choice
- ½ onion(s), red
- ½ tomato(s)
- 2 tbsp milk, optional
- 3 tsp butter
- salt and pepper
- 1 pinch(s) basil
Instructions
Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
First, melt 2 teaspoons of butter in a pan. Heat the pan to medium heat and maintain this heat until the end. Meanwhile, cut the bread into small cubes (I recommend wholemeal bread). Then toast the bread in the pan. Stir occasionally to ensure the sides are evenly golden brown. Season with salt and pepper, then remove from the pan and set aside. Finely chop the onion and tomato. Now add 1 teaspoon of butter to the pan and fry the onion. After a few minutes, add the tomatoes. Optionally, add 2 tablespoons of milk for a creamier texture. Then add your favorite cheese, such as Gouda or Cheddar, and let the cheese melt. Then add the eggs and bread to the pan and stir until the egg is cooked. Season to taste.
