Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 kg tomatoes
  • 350 g onion(s)
  • 200 g apples, sour
  • 700 g rock candy
  • 350 ml vinegar (white wine vinegar)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 5 tsp sweet paprika powder
  • 1 pinch of chili, ground
  • 1 tsp. clove powder
  • 1 pinch allspice, ground

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Blanch the tomatoes, peel them, quarter them, and remove the seeds. Peel and dice the onions. Peel, core, and dice the apples. Cook everything together with half the sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it forms a thick paste. Bring the remaining half of the sugar to a boil with vinegar, let it simmer for about 5-7 minutes, then add it to the tomato mixture and stir in. Add the spices, bring everything back to a boil, season to taste, and then pour into small twist-off jars while still hot and seal immediately. It’s a great addition to wontons.
