Beetroot and apple chutney

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg beetroot, cooked
  • 600 g apples, peeled
  • 3 onions, red
  • 1 clove(s) garlic
  • 200 g cane sugar
  • 200 ml apple cider vinegar
  • salt and pepper
  • cumin

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes

Finely grate the beets and apples. Finely dice the onions and garlic and melt them with the brown sugar. Add the beets, apples, and apple cider vinegar, and season with salt, pepper, and cumin. Simmer over low heat. Pour into jars and seal. Delicious with cream cheese or seasoned hard cheese.
