Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 350 g chicken breast fillet(s)
- 450 g creamed spinach, frozen
- 5 onions
- 5 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 1 tsp, stripped ginger, chopped
- 1 tbsp oil (peanut oil)
- 4 carnations
- 3 cardamom pods
- 4 bay leaves
- 2 tsp, leveled paprika powder
- ½ tsp, leveled chili powder
- 2 tsp, levelled cumin, ground
- 2 tsp, leveled turmeric
- ½ tsp, sautéed garam masala
- 100 g whipped cream
- 1 pinch of salt
- n. B. water
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes
Peel and finely chop the onion. Cut the meat into pieces about 2 cm in size. Brown the onions, then add the meat, cloves, cardamom pods, bay leaves, cumin, paprika, and turmeric and fry gently for 5 minutes. Stir in the garlic, ginger, and chili and heat to high. Add a little water and simmer gently with the lid closed for 30 minutes. Then add the thawed spinach and salt, season to taste, and simmer covered for another 10 minutes. Finally, add the cream and garam masala spice and let it simmer gently with the lid closed for 10 minutes. Serve with basmati or jasmine rice.
