Wash and peel the onion and cut into 1 cm pieces. Wash the bell pepper, remove the seeds and cut into strips. If the pieces are very large, halve them as well. Heat a little olive oil in a pan and sauté the onions until translucent. Add the bell pepper and sauté. Deglaze with balsamic vinegar and a little water or soy sauce. Soy sauce makes the bell peppers a little spicier; if you prefer a pure paprika flavor, water is better. Reduce the heat and add honey. Sauté the bell peppers until soft; this takes about 10 minutes. Season with salt, pepper and balsamic cream. The bell peppers go well as a vegetable side dish or with gypsy schnitzel.
