Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 liter of water
  • 20 g citric acid
  • 500 g sugar
  • Elderflower umbels, so many that they are completely covered by water

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest period approx. 1 day; Total time approx. 1 day 10 minutes

Syrup from the flowers

Shake the elderflowers thoroughly to remove any bugs, etc. Then place them in a tall, grease-free container and fill with water until the flowers are covered. After 24 hours, strain the flowers. Boil the collected water with the sugar and citric acid until it begins to thicken. Bottle while still hot and seal. To drink, dilute approximately 1:4 with water, white wine, or sparkling wine.
