Marzipan sticks

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 200 g marzipan paste
  • 175 g butter or margarine
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 3 drops of oil (lemon baking oil)
  • 200 g wheat flour
  • 50 g cornstarch
  • Jelly, currant
  • Dark chocolate coating

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour

filled with currant jelly

Stir the marzipan mixture until smooth, add the butter, and mix until smooth. Stir in the sugar, vanilla sugar, egg, and cooking oil. Mix the flour and cornstarch, sift, and stir in a tablespoon at a time. Preheat oven to 180°C. Fill a piping bag with a serrated nozzle and pipe 5cm-long strands onto a baking sheet lined with baking paper. The dough is very stiff, so you’ll need a lot of strength in your hands. It might be easier to do it in a meat grinder with a biscuit attachment. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (8-10 minutes). Let the marzipan sticks cool. Spread half of them with jelly and top with another marzipan stick. Then dip half of them in melted chocolate coating.
