Asian Gyros

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 400 g meat (gyros meat), seasoned
  • 2 tbsp curry powder
  • 100 ml water
  • 1 small can of pineapple, in pieces, with juice
  • 100 ml cream or milk
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • some salt
  • some sauce thickener
  • Oil, for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Brown the seasoned gyro meat in a little oil. Sprinkle with curry powder and continue to brown briefly. Deglaze with water and let it reduce slightly. Then add the pineapple and its juice and the cream (or milk), bring back to a simmer, and season with Worcestershire sauce and salt. Thicken with a little thickener. If desired, you can add canned mushrooms, bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, or asparagus pieces. I serve the Asian gyro with rice.
