Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 640 g flour
- 240 g sugar
- 240 g margarine
- 1 kg fruit of your choice
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 jar powdered sugar, dissolved in liquid
- possibly grease for the tray
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
with all the fruits that were available in the garden
Using a hand mixer, combine flour, sugar, margarine, egg, and baking powder into crumbles. Spread some of the crumbles on a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet until very thin. Place the washed, partially chopped fruit (I used red currants, apples, plums, cherries, and grapes) on top (my cake was a mess) and sprinkle with sugar. Then spread the remaining crumbles on top and bake in an oven preheated to 180°C for about 45 minutes. Depending on the type of fruit, you may need ten minutes longer. Before they cool, glaze with icing and cut into pieces, as this will prevent the crumbles from being too hard to cut.
