Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 250 g flour
  • 250 g quark (cottage cheese)
  • 250 g butter or margarine
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • Salt
  • 125 g sugar
  • 250 g hazelnuts, grated
  • 125 ml water
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • Cinnamon
  • rum
  • Egg(s), for brushing

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

For the dough, crumble the butter and flour and then knead with the remaining ingredients to form a dough. For the filling, bring the water, butter, and sugar to a boil. Stir in the ground nuts, honey, cinnamon, and a dash of rum, and let cool. Roll out the dough (approx. 3-4 mm) and cut into squares (approx. 13×13). Cover the squares with the filling and roll them up from one corner to the other, pressing the narrow ends together firmly to form croissants. Brush the croissants with egg and bake at 180°C (top and bottom heat) for 25-30 minutes.
