Instructions
Working time approx. 40 minutes; Rest time approx. 14 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes; Total time approx. 15 hours 50 minutes
For the star dough, beat the eggs and powdered sugar until creamy. Stir in the yogurt and oil. Add the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, salt, and vanilla sugar and mix everything together. Line a 26 cm springform pan with baking paper, pour in the batter and smooth it out. Bake in an oven preheated to 180°C for about 25 minutes. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool, ideally overnight. Use a cookie cutter to cut stars out of the cooled cake. For the cake batter, beat the eggs and sugar until creamy. Stir the ricotta into the mixture. Add the milk, oil, baking powder, vanilla sugar, and flour and mix everything together. Grease a loaf pan or line it with baking paper. Pour half of the cake batter into the loaf pan. Place the cut-out stars upright, along their entire length, in the batter. Pour the remaining cake batter on top. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for approximately 45 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool. For the glaze, melt the chocolate coating in a hot water bath and cover the cake with it. Sprinkle with sugar. The star can also be replaced with other shapes, such as a heart for Mother’s Day.
