Delicious chocolate cookies with a hint of ginger and walnuts. Delicious, not-too-sweet, cookie cutters for the Christmas season.
Sift flour, pudding powder, powdered sugar, and cocoa powder into a bowl. Add the orange zest, ground (or finely chopped, if desired) walnuts, and ground ginger. Add the softened butter and egg and knead everything into a firm dough. If desired, fold in chopped candied ginger (tastes delicious, but will of course be considerably sweeter). Refrigerate the dough for about 30 minutes. Then roll out thinly in batches and cut out cookies. Bake at 160°C (fan oven) for about 7–9 minutes. Decorate as desired with glaze (e.g., lemon with a hint of ginger for those who can’t get enough ginger), sprinkles, or nuts.
