Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 125 g butter
  • 125 g sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 250 g flour
  • 4 egg whites
  • 250 g nuts, ground
  • 250 g sugar
  • 1 bag of vanilla sugar
  • e.g. jam (blackcurrant jam)
  • e.g. powdered sugar
  • some lemon juice

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 3 hours

Currant jam and lemon glaze round off the taste

Make a dough from flour, sugar, butter, 1 packet of vanilla sugar, and the 2 egg yolks and let it rest in the refrigerator for about 2 hours. Then roll it out on a floured surface, not too thin. Cut out stars and place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. For the topping, beat the egg whites, sugar, and vanilla sugar until stiff, then fold in the ground nuts. Pipe the mixture onto the stars using 2 teaspoons or a cake piping bag (leaving the points of the stars exposed). Then place a small dollop of blackcurrant jam into the center of each nut mixture. Preheat the oven to 175°C; bake the cookies until they are not too dark (it’s best to stay nearby). Once cooled, mix the powdered sugar and lemon juice and coat the cookies with it.
