Sicilian watermelon pudding

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 melon(s) (watermelon)
  • 50 g cornstarch
  • 120 g sugar
  • ½ tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1 pinch of clove powder
  • 30 g chocolate (chocolate drops)

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 5 hours; Total time approx. 5 hours 10 minutes

Peel the watermelon, chop it into small pieces, remove the seeds, and puree the flesh in a blender. Measure out 800 ml. Mix the cornstarch with a little melon juice and add it to a saucepan with the remaining juice and the other ingredients, except for the chocolate chips. Bring to a boil and simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly. Pour the mixture into a large pudding dish or small molds and let it set in the refrigerator for a few hours. Turn out onto dessert plates and serve garnished with the chocolate chips.
