Oven-baked apple pudding

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 kg apples, crumbly, sour (e.g. Boskop)
  • 7 tbsp cinnamon sugar
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

egg-free, gluten-free

My son always called it pudding because it was also served with vanilla sauce – in culinary terms, this is of course completely wrong, but perhaps forgivable nonetheless. Peel and trim the apples and cut them into thin slices. Grease a not-too-shallow baking dish with 1 tablespoon of butter. Layer the apples with about 4 tablespoons of cinnamon sugar. Place the remaining butter in small pieces on top and sprinkle with the remaining 3 tablespoons of cinnamon sugar. Cover with aluminum foil and bake at around 180-200°C (top/bottom heat) or 160-180°C (fan oven) for about 30-40 minutes. It goes well with vanilla sauce, vanilla ice cream, and semi-whipped vanilla cream, for example. The dish is low in fat, egg-free, gluten-free, and suitable for a diet as long as you don’t use excessive amounts of sugar and don’t eat heavy cream with it. And if you like, layer in a few raisins for good measure.
