Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 can of tomatoes, chopped
  • 200 ml cola
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 clove(s) garlic
  • 4 cl whiskey
  • 2 cl apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 dash of soy sauce
  • 1 dash of Worcestershire sauce
  • salt and pepper
  • rosemary
  • Thyme

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

easy preparation

First, fry the finely chopped onion in a little oil, then remove it from the pan. Next, caramelize the brown sugar in the pan and deglaze with the cola. Then, add all the remaining ingredients (tomatoes, whiskey, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper) at the same time. The sauce should now simmer for at least 45 minutes over medium heat. After cooking, let it cool slightly and blend the sauce until smooth. Thickening the sauce is not necessary because it will reduce the sauce. If desired, you can add a little chili for a little extra spice.
