Oven-baked potatoes as a side dish
Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Peel the potatoes and cut them into cubes about 2 cm thick. I also like to use peeled new potatoes whole. Cover the potatoes, without salt or water, and place them in an ovenproof dish in the oven for about 20 minutes. The roasted aromas develop particularly deliciously this way, and the effort is minimal. Shortly before the end of the cooking time, turn the potatoes once so they are lightly crispy on all sides. When the potatoes are tender, remove the dish from the oven and stir in the butter, salt, and chopped parsley. Instead of parsley, you can also season the potatoes with other herbs as desired. The potatoes go well with pan-fried dishes and vegetables.
