Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 1 kg asparagus
  • Sugar
  • ½ white bread
  • some butter
  • 4 slices of cooked ham
  • 100 ml cream
  • 4 eggs
  • salt and pepper
  • 100 g cheese, grated Gouda

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

good utilization of broken asparagus

Peel and slice the asparagus. Cook in salted water with a little sugar and a knob of butter until almost tender (about 10 minutes). Then place in a colander and let drain. Cut the white bread into 1.5 cm thick slices, remove the crusts, and place in a buttered tart dish. Arrange the asparagus pieces on top. Dice the cooked ham and arrange on top. Mix the eggs with cream, salt, and pepper and pour over the bread. Sprinkle with grated cheese. Bake in the oven at 200°C for about 20 minutes.
