Gooseberry Clafoutis

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 500 g gooseberries
  • 120 g flour
  • 250 ml milk
  • 250 ml cream
  • 6 eggs
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 30 g butter, for the mold
  • n. B. Sugar, for sprinkling

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 5 minutes

Preheat the oven to 180°C. Wash the gooseberries, drain well, and remove the stems. Mix the remaining ingredients in a bowl to make a very smooth batter. Grease a baking dish with butter, pour in the batter, and then top with the gooseberries. Bake the clafoutis for about 40 minutes; test with a skewer for doneness. If desired, sprinkle some sugar on the cake towards the end of the baking time to caramelize it.
