Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 25 g yeast
  • 50 g butter
  • 250 ml milk
  • 50 g sugar
  • 1 tsp cardamom, ground
  • 650 g flour (light wheat flour)
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes

Cinnamon rolls

Melt the butter in a saucepan, add the milk, and let it warm to the touch. Dissolve the yeast in it. Add the sugar and cardamom, then stir everything into the flour and mix. Let it rise for 40 minutes. For the filling, melt the butter and add the cinnamon and sugar. Knead the dough again and roll it out on a floured surface. Spread the filling over the dough, roll it up, cut it into approximately 2 cm thick pieces, and place them in baking cups (made of parchment or aluminum foil). Let it rise for 30 minutes under a towel. Then bake in a preheated oven at 225°C, middle rack, for 10 minutes, until golden brown.
