Spiced nuts sweet, salty and spicy

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp cane sugar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp harissa
  • ½ tsp Ras el Hanout
  • 3 pinch(s) coarse sea salt
  • 300 g nuts

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Melt the butter, sugar, and honey while stirring. Add the spices. Stir in the nuts. Spread the seasoned nuts on a baking sheet lined with baking paper or foil and roast in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 15 minutes, mixing well in between. Let the nuts cool. In my pictures, you can see homemade shelled peanuts, homemade shelled pistachios, homemade peeled almonds, cashews, and hazelnuts. Next time, I would use roasted peanuts or toast them before preparation to ensure the roasting level is correct. Instead of harissa, I used chili powder and added a little more salt. Ras el hanout tastes excellent in this mix. It also makes a great gift.
