Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 onion(s)
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 120 g chickpea flour
  • 1 pinch of baking powder
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • 1 tbsp parsley
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 200 ml water, boiling
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp lemon juice
  • Olive oil for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Finely chop the onion and mince the garlic. Combine the chickpea flour with the onion, garlic, baking powder, and spices. Boil water and add it to the flour mixture. Mix everything well and let it swell for 10 minutes. Then add 1 teaspoon of olive oil and lemon juice. Heat the olive oil in a pan and form the chickpea mixture into small balls. Fry the falafel in the hot oil for about 2 minutes. They’ll still taste good the next day.
