Ingredients for 2 servings:
- 4 beetroots, pre-cooked
- 2 slice(s) mountain cheese, or another spicy cheese
- 1 apple
- 1 egg(s)
- 50 g sour cream
- 200 g quark
- 5 slice(s) salami, low-fat
- chives
- Parsley
- Caraway seeds
- vegetable broth
- Salt
- pepper
- horseradish
- 1 garlic clove(s), as desired

Slice the beetroot and apples, and place both in a baking dish. Whisk the egg with the sour cream and quark, stir in the herbs and horseradish, and season, adding caraway seeds if desired. Pour the mixture over the beetroot and apples and cover with salami. Top with the cheese. Bake the whole thing in the oven at 180°C for about 20 minutes, until the cheese turns slightly brown. If you’re not on a low-carb diet, you can add precooked potatoes. It goes perfectly with the dish.
