Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 125 g spelt flour (wholemeal)
- 2 m.-sized eggs
- 45 g raw cane sugar
- 80 g margarine (semi-skimmed)
- 45 g applesauce, unsweetened
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 2 large apples
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes
Cream the butter and applesauce until fluffy, fold in the sugar and eggs, then stir in the flour and baking powder. Pour the batter into a springform pan lined with parchment paper and top with apple slices. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes at 175 to 200°C (350 to 400°F) (test with a toothpick). Once cooled, cut into 8 slices. The cake won’t be very sweet. If you prefer it sweeter, you can double the amount of sugar. Of course, you can also top the batter with other fruit.
