Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • 3 eggs
  • 140 g sugar
  • 8 tbsp water
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 190 g flour
  • 3 apples
  • Lemon(s) peel
  • Cinnamon

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Separate the eggs. Beat the egg whites until stiff, then combine the egg yolks with the sugar (reserve one tablespoon). Mix in the water, lemon zest, baking powder, and flour, then fold in the beaten egg whites. Pour into a springform pan. Top the batter with apple slices and sprinkle with cinnamon and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Bake for 40 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius. Let cool completely before removing from the pan.
