Instructions
Working time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes
made from fried strudel dough in McDonald’s style
For the filling, peel and core the apples, and cut into approximately 1cm pieces. Bring water, sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon to a boil. Add the apple pieces and sauté briefly. Mix the cornstarch with 5 tablespoons of water, stir into the apple mixture, and simmer briefly. Allow to cool. Place a strudel sheet on a damp cloth, brush with egg, and cut into 4 strips, approximately 35x6cm. Place a little filling along the narrow edge of each strip. Fold the dough strips over the filling to form a triangle, repeatedly until all corners are sealed. Repeat with the remaining dough and filling. Preheat oven to 50°C. Heat about 3 fingers of oil in a pan and fry the Taschenl, one after the other, until golden brown on both sides, then keep warm in the oven. If the apples are tart, increase the amount of sugar if necessary.
