  • 1 kg potatoes, mainly waxy
  • 1 kg apples, e.g. Goldparmänen or Brettacher
  • ½ liter vegetable broth
  • 5 carnations
  • 1 onion(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

This dish is captivating for its simplicity and clear flavor. It’s important to use good quality produce, preferably from the farmer. I always buy it at the market. It’s incredibly easy to prepare: Cut the peeled potatoes into 3-4 cm pieces and simmer them in the vegetable broth for 10 minutes. Quarter the peeled apples, core them (cut large apples again if necessary), and add them to the potatoes along with the cloves. Cook for another 10 minutes. Serve in a bowl with butter-brown onion rings.
